Glass containers can be recycled now. Window glass and other products like Pyrex bowls are recyclable but with a bit more effort. Local recycling programs may request that glass be cleaned and sorted by color. Some beverage containers are recycled through reuse, saving energy over manufacturing. The Oregon Bottle Bill has successfully increased the reused of glass containers. Washington does not have such a requirement.
