When our rivers rise these days, the often carry an accumulation
of cans, bottles, plastic jugs, chunks of styrofoam and other
trash downstream. Much of this garbage finds its way into Puget
Sound. The 1990 “Coast Weeks” clean-up “harvested” some 15 tons
of refuse from our Sound beaches.
